DIRECTOR, WRITER, PRODUCER - PENNY PEYSER

Penny has served in the entertainment industry for the past thirty years. The lion share of her time has been spent as an actress, beginning on the stage in New York, starring in The Hot L Baltimore, and moving on to films and television, most notably, All the President's Men, The In-Laws, The Frisco Kid, the series Rich Man Poor Man, The Tony Randall Show, Crazy Like a Fox and Knots Landing, plus many guest - starring roles on episodic television, mini-series and movies made for television. Expanding her interests, Penny spent two years as director Donald Petrie's Story Editor. As a Producer, she has co-created and continues to develop Cat Fight, a family comedy, an hour-long television series, "Crazy Eights", and a docu-drama, Jailed for Freedom. Trying To Get Good is her first film.

 
 
DIRECTOR, WRITER, PRODUCER - DOUG MCINTYRE

Doug has been a television and film writer/producer for eighteen years. His credits include Married with Children, WKRP in Cincinnati, Full House, and many, many others. Doug has written/produced for NBC, CBS, ABC, FOX, ShowTime, WB, UPN and PBS. He is also a published author, Cheap Advice (Time/Warner Books) and has written for American History Illustrated Magazine and LA Jazz Scene. Doug was the Executive Producer and show runner for Mike Hammer-- Private Eye (including a memorable two-part episode built around Jack Sheldon) and hosts his own morning drive radio show, McIntyre in the Morning on Talk Radio 790 KABC in Los Angeles. He was a regular guest on ABC's Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher and Dennis Miller Live on CNBC, he has also appeared on The O'Reilly Factor with Bill O'Reilly on The Fox News Channel, Talk Back Live on CNN and the History Channel. Doug co-created the critically acclaimed children's animated series Liberty's Kids currently airing nationally on PBS which earned him a Humanitas Award nomination. Trying To Get Good is his first film.

 
 
EDITOR - MATT MCUSIC

Matt has worked in the motion picture industry as a writer/director/editor for over ten years. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Southern California with a degree in Film and Television Production. Matt's feature directorial debut, Shamelove (2006) garnered top awards at the LA Indies and DIY Film Festival and continued as an official selection at numerous festivals such as Dances With Films and as part of Cinequest's Vuze Audience Favorites. He has done cinematography and editing for PBS, NBC, FOX and the Disney Channel. Matt currently lives and works in Los Angeles and Trying To Get Good is his first documentary feature.
